Workers

‘The workers united will never be defeated’ encapsulates the progress of the labour movement and industrial relations. Badges from the museum’s collection celebrate the introduction of the eight-hour day and highlight other struggles for improved working conditions and workplace health and safety. There are also badges worn to show support for industrial action aimed at safeguarding jobs and to comment on public policy. Important international movements, such as Polish trade union movement Solidarność, are also represented in the collection.
