Nuclear war would kill all these creatures

1970s–80s

Donated by Peter Stanley

Museum of Australian Democracy Collection

This handmade badge is one of many produced for the anti-nuclear movement of the 1970s and 1980s. The movement protested against nuclear weapons testing, the mining and export of uranium and the use of nuclear energy. The donor of this badge, Peter Stanley, writes:

The anti-nuclear movement used a great range of slogans and images, from hard and highly political to the soft and sloppy. This is an example of the sentimental end of the spectrum.
